Lance is the Member for Bundamba in the Queensland Parliament where he proudly fights for a fair go for the Bundamba community
He is a committed advocate for social justice and equity of opportunity for secure jobs, health, education, infrastructure and essential services.
He has delivered vital funding for new and existing schools, Bundamba TAFE, the new Ripley Satellite Health Centre, more doctors and teachers, train station upgrades, more public transport, sports clubs and community groups.
Lance has a proven history of fighting for a fair go for working people.
Before being elected he worked hard to improve the lives of working people and was part of the iconic Not4Sale campaign that protected publicly owned energy assets from being sold off and privatised.
This included Swanbank Power Station in the Bundamba electorate which, after being mothballed and prepped for sale, was brought back into service by the Palaszczuk Labor government and now forms part of CleanCo, the ground-breaking publicly owned clean energy company.
Lance is also Shadow Minister for Energy and is committed to ensuring Queensland realises the enormous benefits that come with the transition to clean energy - jobs, economic growth and cheaper, cleaner power.
Lance has also served as Minister for Employment and Small Business and Minister for Training and Skills Development.
One of two First Nations MPs, Lance is a proud Gubbi Gubbi man who was born and raised in South-East Queensland.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Sustainability and Climate Policy and is a McKinnon Scholar.
